Jonathan runs the Chipchase Estate, which consists of agricultural and livestock farming, commercial shooting and fishing. Events such at weddings and giving access for filming and photo shoots, a residential property portfolio and maintaining the Castle and its gardens which are open to the public certain times of the year.

Jonathan is also a Group Director and ao Co-Founder of LJ Group which is an independent, privately held investment house and multi-family office. The Group provides expert independent counsel, aswell as exclusive access to proprietary investment and co-investment opportunities to private clients, family offices, foundations, and corporate institutionswith offices in London, Geneva, Hong Kong, Miami, Isle of Man, Singapore and Lisbon.

Prior to LJ Group Jonathan was a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Deutsche Land, an AIM listed real estate investment fund with AUM in excess circa €600m. He co-founded Prostar Capital, a boutique private investment firm with interests in real estate financing and international residential development. Prior to that, he co-founded Cleland Capital Ltd which focused on UK real estate providing equity and debt financing. He started his career by training as a Fund Manager and became an Equity Analyst in the Pan European Building and Construction Mining sectors advising on over £4 billion at Brewin Dolphin Securities. Jonathan got a 2:1 in Business Management and Marketing at Newcastle University and is a Member of the Securities Institute.

He sits on the boards of the CLA and Tyne Rivers Trust as well as being Co-Chairman of WheelPower, an excellent charity which promotes equality of opportunity in sport for all people with physical disabilities. WheelPower is a volunteer led charity that provides opportunities, facilities and equipment, which enables disabled people to play sport and lead healthy active and sociable lives. The charity raises fund for and runs Stoke Mandeville sports centre which provides residential courses for the newly injured, and the chance for all ages to participate in National Games and sport at all levels. The worldwide Paralympic movement was born at Stoke Mandeville in 1948 – so 2012 is a particularly special year.

which is a 3hr train journey from London King Cross.

Visitor Opening Times:
The Castle and Gardens will be open from Saturday, 9th July 2022, until Tuesday, 12th July 2022, between the hours of 1-5pm. The last tour is at 4.30pm.
